9 Ways To Improve Your Credit Profile

From Debt Counselors of America

  1. Have both a checking and savings  account.
  2. It is essential to have at least one major credit card, that is paid on time.
  3. Having three to four credit accounts,  including one or two major credit     cards, is good.  Finance company loans can hurt your score though.
  4. Pay your bills on time.
  5. You will score better if you've been in the same job or working at the same company for at least a couple of years.
  6. Having the same address for a couple of years is helpful.
  7. Usually more than four or five inquiries into your credit in the previous six months will count against you.
  8. Pay down your debts!  Contact Debt Counselors of America for help at www.dca.org or 1-800-680-3328.
  9. Collection accounts, judgments, or liens can be a red flag to lenders.  Get them paid off as soon as possible.
