Refrigerant Recovery Certification Program for HVAC Technicians & Refrigeration Operators

 

This EPA APPROVED one-day seminar was developed by the Air Conditioning Contractors of America and Penn State University Technology Center. Seminar topics include: EPA Regulations, Ozone Depletion Theory, Clean Air Act, Safe Refrigerant Handling, Recovery-Recycling-Reclamation and Alternate Refrigerants.  Enrollees must have basic knowledge of refrigeration systems and terminology. Certificates and Wallet Certification Cards will be issued and mailed by Penn State University. You will receive a reference text at the time of registration and you should review it prior to your scheduled seminar date. Seminar and reference text do not cover system operation. However, there are additional study guides available to purchase at the Education Center.

Retest applicants are welcome to attend the complete seminar or just the testing portion of the seminar. It is not necessary to retest the core section, only missed section(s). If you are retesting and not interested in attending the seminar again please arrive for the testing portion at 2:15 PM, so that you can be checked in.

TEST SECTIONS:      Core Section (25 questions)
                                     Type I - Small Appliance (25 questions)
                                     Type II - High Pressure & Very High Pressure (25 questions)
                                     Type III - Low Pressure/Chillers (25 questions)
                                     (Universal Certification = Core, Type I, II, & III)
